I have to admit I've had just about no luck with trains. I've tried on a 
"158" from Romsey to Southampton which worked. However several journeys on 
"Wessex Electrics" through the New Forest, and even the old slam-door 
"CIG" train between Brockenhurst and Lymington, give periods of nonsense 
signal.

Buses are generally much better.
