PS.: What about a fixed naming scheme for the planet.osm Files?

planet-<year>-<month>-<day>-<revision/modifikation>.osm.<compression>

where -<day> and -<revision/modifikation> are optional
with a symlink to the most current File?
This would give us more consistency on all mirrors.

This would result in a set of the following Files:
 planet-2006-04.osm
 planet-2006-04.osm.bz2
 planet-2006-05-01.osm
 planet-2006-05-01.osm.bz2
 planet-2006-07.osm
 planet-2006-07.osm.bz2
