I tried to import photos to a track but got a message that the time
could not be read. Does the time have to be in any special format?
My file starts with:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<gpx version="1.0" creator="Cetus TrackLog (Linux) 1.35 http://www.CetusGPS.dk"
  xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
