This is starting to become troll-like.
What we've had are a few people come up with neat ideas. Nick Hill did
some interesting stuff with turning lat/lon in to int fields. Others and
you had the idea of having a 'most recent' flag or a seperate 'current
data' table. These have got, barely, to the proof of concept stage.
What I havn't seen are tested patches.
You, me, everyone can come up with a million ways to improve OSM. Just
look at trac. The hard bit is people coding them. You seem to be wanting
me to code your ideas, but it would be far better if you coded your
ideas and sent a patch to the dev list. If it's faster, better, nicer
then I'm sure you'll find me, imi, mikel, tom, ben and anyone else who's
submitted code receptive to it.
