The differentiating thing for photo sharing services for me is how
well they deal with metadata and search. I currently advocate Flickr
for this reason alone. We've got Flickr pro accounts (effectively
unlimited storage) for Isle of Wight and Mapchester for trying out
their geo search tools. Unfortunately their geo tools aren't live yet,
hence we've not done anything much, but they are apparently imminent
and will almost certainly behave in a very similar way to the now
defunct geobloggers.com
Also if services support things like georss they will tie in nicely
with the work that Nick is doing on annotation layers. I'm all for
making this effortless.
