There are specific headers in the email that mean "send talk mailing
list submissions to" and "to subscribe or unsubscribe via the world wide
web visit". It doesn't take a huge amount of effort for the author of
the email client (or mailman) to write the text with the links replaced
by known headers.

Personally, I don't see why the relatively little used forum should be
"spammed" at the top of EVERY list email.
I also find it HUGELY easily to monitor and converse on mailing lists
rather than web based forums as it doesn't require me to actively check
them all the time (Yes, I'm lazy).

As we're talking about the mailing list, why isn't "evil reply to
munging" turned on? I expect most people do a "reply to list" or a reply
all and remove all but the list address anyway.
