There only needs to be one person for a post to be filled. IMHO if more vote
"for" than "against" then the candidate is duly elected to the position. My
experience is that more than one nominee per post is pretty rare in
voluntary organisations.

Also IMHO you are still entitled to vote if your are eligible as a member
and have "become" a member as per the requirements up to the time voting
closes.
