Hi,

Neither is an accountable and open vote system permissible to me, where
there is only one nomenation per position.

If we continue like this, I think OSMF is a farce and we could also skip
that crap and Steve just asks some people to do something to distribute
work load. :-(

Reading the mailing list, I don't get the opinion, that we all share the
same ideas and we all agree about the course, the current project is
taking. Some of the differences are more global discussions. So I thought
of the OSMF as one institution to sort this out.

Things to consider are:
- Different models of getting money were considered. Different people
prefer different models, while some are excluding each other.
- There are numerous discussions about licensing with different opinions
- Concerns about the privacy of data contributors against the desire of
people to have access to all contributed data
- Even technical questions arose: how should the distribution of the
project be structured. Some prefer one central controller while other want
to have "their own little server".

There was a request that the nominations should quick introduce themself
to give an aid for voters. I ignored that, because I thought of it as a
joke as long as there is no choice at all.

Now, since Erik stepped forward, I started with my wiki-page at
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/User:Imi.

If there is indeed no desire for more than one nomination per position,
then I step back and let Erik be the secretary. I will continue to help
OSM (and OSMF) in any case needed, but I will not fill the dummy position.

Ciao, Imi

PS: I know that there are many foundations where the leaders were the only
electable people. I am not an active member of any of them.
