Freemap (www.free-map.org.uk/osm) will interpret certain classes of node as
place names:

class=hamlet
class=village
class=small town
class=large town
class=suburb

(a hamlet is a very small village)

Again scroll round the default location or go to lat 50.92, lon -1.4 -
there are a good number of place names already in those areas.
