Trefor Edwards: "Was a 6th series 1 inch OS map for the Isle of Man ever 
published with the standard red/white cover? There seems to be a 1 inch 
version from that period with a cover printed in green and numbered 87. 
The cover has the standard round OS emblem (two horses(?) shield and GR) 
but diferent otherwise. Was this issued instead of the standard version?
I don't want to spend the rest of my life look for a "standard" 6th 
series map of the Isle of Man if it was never published."

Mike Cottrell: "Stop looking! Sheet 87 was never published in the New 
Popular Edition (6th edn) format although it was shown on official 
indexes. The version you refer to is the Second War Revision sheet 17 
that was republished in 1950."
