Does anybody know exactly which roads are displayed as thin purple
lines in scale 1:200,000 and 1:500,000 of MultiMap.com ?
I've looked at one particular intersection of country roads,
http://www.openstreetmap.org/index.html?lat=58.495&lon=15.34&zoom=12
MapQuest (Navteq) shows the east-west route as somewhat bolder
than the north-south, and this is in agreement with my own
observations,
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?latlongtype=decimal&latitude=58.495&longitude=15.34&zoom=7
Google Maps (TeleAtlas) makes no difference whatsoever between the
four roads,
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=58.495,15.34&spn=0.061089,0.159988&om=1
When one zooms out to 1:200,000 or 1:500,000, Multimap doesn't
display the western road (towards Fornåsa) at all, only the other
three, and this is the big mystery to me,
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?lat=58.495&lon=15.34&scale=200000&icon=x
(This intersection is just south of a village named Klockrike, and
"The Road to Klockrike" also happens to be the title of a novel
(1948) and film (1953, http://imdb.com/title/tt0046530/) by 1974
Nobel Prize winner Harry Martinson.)
