I see the home page is showing maps again, but useable ones now, though the
level of detail is limited. Great progress.

What vintage are these, though? These seem to reflect Cambridge as it was
just after I started mapping several weeks ago.

Also, the colours aren't as varied as osmarender. Industrial areas show up
in green just like (recreational) parks. And car parks don't show up at all.
The carriageways of dual carriageways have merged into one thick line.

I notice a very odd weirness: one of the road names has its name spelt out
backwards (not mirror image, but letters in reverse order: 'daoR tekramweN'.
(Another is completely wrong, but it may have been corrected since).

Am I right in thinking the search index is live while the map is several
weeks old? Street names I put in yesterday show up.

Has the generator of these maps (sorry I don't know who you are) considered
the sugestion of using distributed processing to keep it up to date
regularly and get greater detail?

Sorry to seem a bit carping, but though the new maps now work, I think the
quality still has a long way to go before it is serious competition for
anything, even if the data were complete.

David
