I don't have the psychic energy to get involved with the
programming aspects of OSM (I'm more-or-less burned out
on that sort of thing) but I'm quite enjoying adding a
few roads here and there as convenient (and to motivate
getting at little bit of exercise on dank evenings) and
it's interesting to follow along the development of the
software.
Sometimes it's a bit frustrating, e.g., when downloading
data into JOSM is so slow that you're not sure if it's
all hung up, but it's really nice to see how the software
is coming along steadily. Every week or so there's
something new in JOSM or its plugins or on the websites -
sort of like a little present has arrived. It makes
it feel like a project which is going somewhere.
