[OSM-talk] using arabic letters in street names

Hi,

I am from Morocco and here the street names are in arabic letters, I
am having a problem to name streets. I name the street in arabic with
JOSM, JOSM shows the name correctly, I upload the data to the server,
and then next time I log to JOSM and download my last modified data,
the street name is change to something like: $#£%ù¤.

I have tried the same with the applet and the same happened but in
this case the letters where changed to ????????.

Is OSM server accepting unicode?

BTW is there someone here from Morocco, North africa, or any arabic country?
