Your problem here is definitely a lack of timestamps. You should be able to
add timestamps fairly easily using the script mentioned by Joerg.
Each point needs it's own stamp for osm to accept it.

I've uploaded 1.5MB GPX files before, so there shouldn't be any problems
with the size.
