Just turn on the debugging rule (uncomment line 36 to 38 in 
osm-map-features.xml). You'll then see narrow green lines for all your 
untagged segments

It can make quite a difference, even in fairly well mapped areas - compare
around the north of the ringroad on

If you don't agree with osmarender not showing segments by default, you 
just have to remove 7 characters from the file and it will :)
