[OSM-talk] Get rid of segments [was: Oakham]

I'd like to know the opinion of server-side coders on this "get rid of 
segments" thing.

Ruby On Rail port of the actual system seems to be the priority at the 
moment. But once it will be done, what's next ?
Does a change to "ways are ordered list of nodes" is really considered ?
