true; unfortunately I cannot help here, because I only have some (poor) 
C++ knowledge. I have no clue about web 2.0 hacking.
But anyway, yes, it needs to run in the user's browsers (while I 
personally prefer to use a locally installed application).

True, but as GPS devices get more and more common, I bet there will be 
more and more people contributing tracks - the easier it is for them to 
contribute, the more content we'll see.
