I found it was pretty accurate when I climbed the Old Man of Coniston.
On the top my GPS read within 1m of the spot-height the map marked for
the trig point, and all the way up it was within 10m of a bariometric
altimeter that was carried by another member of the group. Maybe in
towns it isn't very accurate, but on mountains it seems fine.
