A feature to allow the line drawing to be controlled on a per-layer
basis was added on Friday. Right clicking on a GPS layer in the layer
browser gives an option "Customize line drawing". This then give the
following choices:-
	Use global settings
	Draw lines between points for this layer
	Do not draw lines between points for this layer
	
Not quite the automatic mode for downloaded data which you asked for,
but at least it allows lines to be drawn on only the layers that you
want.
