OK, better talk about this one then, if people are waiting on me:
(1) I'm doing uploads once every few days.
(2) It takes about one evening or overnight to upload a 1x1 degree square (of
scottish complexity)
(3) I'm doing the UK. Dutch might be doing something with Denmark. If people
request areas outside that I'm doing them, but I've hesitated to spend my
PC's time uploading a foreign area that nobody will check, and nobody needs
for their maps. Open to suggestions, of course....
(4) There was a big debate about shifting data a few metres in various
directions - I thought some people were still of the opinion that we
shouldn't upload an area until there are local OSM'ers doing clifftop+beach
walks to verify the data (and I never did find out if it was acceptable to
upload data without these corrections, nor get any theories on what
correction might be valid over large areas)
(5) If I can get the script working on MacOS-X we might get faster uploads as
the Mac is quiet enough for me to sleep while it's working. I've kind of
delayed that work, as the Mapyrus renderer seems more interesting.
(6) It would probably be useful if one of the Norwegians did the upload for
their area, as it will be a while before I finish Britain, and you'll know
the local people who can check it's accuracy.
(7) The latest script reports its status to my web-page*, using a password to
stop random people modifying the page. So email me for that script+password
if you want to upload, rather than using the script from wiki/svn. (and yes,
you can have a copy of that webpage source if you want to host a version
showing your own region)

p.s. sorry about the bridge - yes you'll need to manually correct any bridges
more than a few metres wide, as the satellite photos will show them as "not
blue, and not at 0 elevation, therefore land"
Pretty cool that things as small as the bridge are showing-up on coastline
data though... and a nice check against GPS data where people have driven
over the bridge.
