Anyone thinking they might like to go and shove OSM in the faces of those at
the UK Geospatial Mash-up Event, OS Business Centre, Southampton, 20th
October 2006?

http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/cgs/Booking.htm

£45 reg fee though. (half price for students)

You can also request a desk for exhibiting (network connection provided) so
it would seem it would be a great opportunity to promote OSM even within the
OS.

As Ed Parsons pointed out in his blog, UK map mashups are rare. We of course
believe that’s due to a lack of underlying good quality freely accessible
data in the UK. Hence why OSM is so important. The OS of course take a
different view.

My presentation last week at the BCS symposium suggested that continued
exposure of OSM to the OS is having an impact, even if its only got them
thinking right now.

Events being run by AGI, OGC and BCS Geospatial SIG

Cheers

Andy
