Yes, I did have a thought that maybe getting a mini-SD card and putting it
in an adaptor might be a good bet as i think it likely that they'd use
less power than a "normal" SD card given that they are designed for use i
in mobile phones, I also think that they are designed to work with 2.7V
does anyone know for certain before I waste more dosh ;)
Anyhow, the cards that I have that don't work are:
16Mb card with a Canon label on it, which came bundled with a camera.
1GB card branded Kingston, also has 3.3V written on the sticker.
The cards that sometimes work are:
8MB card branded Canon, another freebie with a camera
256MB card branded Kingston, no 3.3V written on it and says Toshiba on
the back.

I have considered this, but it'd mean using Windows (afaik) to get the
logs off the gps, which is far from ideal, I suppose when in the car I
could perhaps hook it up to the laptop running Linux.
