I like this carrot and stick approach :-)

It is probably worth stating (before someone gets the wrong end of the
stick) that neither Yahoo! nor Google have used any of our data nor have
they made any kind of contributions to OSM.... yet.


would be a pretty compelling reason for Google to pay up. Good PR has
