[OSM-talk] Help needed

Hi!
well, I managed to convert the .img file in a Polish format (.mp) file
with GPSMapedit, and the with PTxt2shp
(http://www.msh-tools.com/Ptxt2shp.html) convert them to a series of
shapefiles. GPSTrackmaker convert the shapes to .gpx files easily, BUT,
the information of the elements are lost in this steep (it is still
there in the .shp)
So, I can now open and edit the files in JOSM, bue the elements had no
name nor other info. Doing this by hand even in the smaller map is
painful. Anybody know a tool to convert from shape (or from .mp) .gpx
without info lost? If so, it will quite easy and fast to upload a large
number of Brazilian maps, both covering state level and major cities.
