[OSM-talk] Feature request/suggestion (JOSM and other editors)

I did some logging today and now I got a gps trace and a bunch of
photos. Photos of signs spelling the street names. Now I want to
use those photos (assuming the signs are not copyrighted...) to
create ways in OSM but how do I find which photo is for which
street? I can manually check time of photo and search in the gpx-
file for that time and then search the map somehow for that
location. It would be easier if I could ask JOSM to search current
layer of gpx data for a specific time and then select that node. Or
even better give JOSM the photo and ask it to find the node with
the closest time stamp as the time stamp of the photo. When I have
found the node I can quite easy see which way the photo is for.

Is this a good idea? Is there already something like this?
