Landsat isn't quite done yet, but at
http://www.free-map.org.uk/josm-custom.jar
you can find a version (based on revision 141) which will render POIs as icons
and different way types in different colours, and which will convert
waypoints to nodes. There is a landsat menu option on this but it's for test
purposes only.
To use the "ways in different colours" rendering, download:
http://www.free-map.org.uk/elemstyles.xml
and place in your .josm directory. Finally add draw.mapstyle=true to your
preferences file.
