[OSM-talk] Filling water areas

To tag the river as you suggest, natural = water, would I feel loose some information.

I guess the better route would be to tag it as waterway = riverbank, but make each section of the river an area rather than just two parallel lines, and then get the mapnik rule file changed to render this

But Artem & others are more expert on this than me.

  If I would liketo get a decent fill on large rivers should I set the value to natural = water? I would like to get a solid representation and not the current thick lines rendering.
       On a similar note I have a large lake that is very ugly, it is crossed by a roadway and for whattever reason the fill wanders in and out of the feature. I'll see if map lint helps and I've already tried readrawing the whole thing, guess I'll try try again.
