[OSM-talk] database problems?

In the last few minutes I have noticed number of segments which are hundreds of km long and are centred on this area of Baghdad:

 http://www.openstreetmap.org/index.html?lat=33.30712641832895&lon=44.48125833375302&zoom=14

For instance segment 23258126 extends from node 27269756 ( 33.31, 44.489) which is in Baghdad, to 27269757 (53.616, 10.235) which I think is probably somewhere in Germany

The worrying thing is that one end of them are connected to nodes which I myself had only created a few minutes before, and I definately wasn't working in the region of the second node above :)

Has the database screwed up and re-issued some node ID's?
