[OSM-talk] City with streets of gold

Just like last year, I'm drawing the map of Russia. Then with line
segments, now with ways. I haven't bothered with Saint Petersburg,
not then, neither now. But someone else has. There are lots of
line segments in this city and now somebody has automatically
created ways for all of them, all having the same markup:

  name=""
  highway="secondary"
  created_by="GRASS v.build.polylines 14042007"

The latter is apparently the date, Saturday April 14, 2007. Other
than this, the actions are completely anonymous. And nothing is
mentioned on the [[WikiProject Russia]] page.

I don't mind really. It looks a little funny to have a mesh of
all-yellow streets (Osmarender layer) and someone will have to go
in and manually sort them out, but this is not different from the
required manual labour anyway.

In some cases, these yellow roads extend outside of the city.
This is when the automatically created ways can become very long.
At some places, they overlap with some primary/trunk/railway ways
that I had already drawn at about the same time. Perhaps the
GRASS action was based on a planet.osm dump that was a few days
old? I think I have now sorted out the roads and railroads
southeast towards Novgorod.
