The DAFIF dataset is/was maintained by US American authorities (NIMA),
focussing on their local needs but including most major airfields from
the 'rest' of the world.

_But_ at least the public DAFIF release feature apparent voids at least
on the European continent (that's the part I'm personally interested
in). Lots of smaller, long standing civil airfields don't show up there
(maybe even large ones, but I'm not certain about that), several large
military airbases are missing. DAFIF would not be that incomplete if it
were derived from the charts of the respective local authorities.
