We've got a "Highway Road" in Leicester.  Google maps abbreviates this as
"Hwy Rd" even at zooms where there is plenty of space, which is rather
unfortunate.

One ambigous re-expansion would be "St of X" - is this "Saint of X" or
"Street of X?"
