As an extra incentive to tag those small things which don't appear on renders 
(bike shops that open on sundays, pubs with food, or accommodation, or guest 
ales, cafes with wheelchair access, water points for canal boats or hikers, 
taxi ranks, hospital A&E, hydrogen fuel stations..) now pyroute lets you 
search for the nearest x to your position, where x is some group of OSM tags:

The interface is still being worked-out, but hopefully that demonstrates that 
you'll be able to find anything you've tagged, from a mobile phone or 
similar.
