I have found this in quite a few roads in Scotland actually, what I did
was manually remove any nodes that are useless, or just delete all the
nodes and segments and start again.  I think that the automatic creation
of nodes and segments should be removed from the editors, as they
produce ridiculous numbers of nodes.
