>How can you tag a way with "route_ref=xyz1" and "route_ref=xyz2" at the
>same time?
You can't. Either it would have to be the sugestion of haveing many ways,
or many routes would have to be placed under the key. so "route_ref="Green
Route"; "Red Route""
>But I presume you were speaking of creating a second segment alongside the
>first one, to achieve the desired offset from the other line. I strongly
>advise against this.
Agreed. It's a messy solution, but its would work visually at least.
>some 10, 20, maybe even 50 metres away from each other.
Well it wouldn't be that far, but I see your point.
>You were the one who started talking about nature trails. These are trails
>worked out by people who know the area. The same people normally publish
>additional information with these trails - how long it takes to walk them,
>whether they're suitable for children or the eldery or people afraid of
>heights. Now you tell me you want to ditch all this information and replace
>it by something that the computer thinks is correct
No I didn't say to scrap information. I said that the time expected to amke
a walk can be worked out from additional information. The fact that a
suggested walk is there cannot be worked out from other data. If there is
information on a sign saying time expected=50mins, then by all means it
could be added, but I was saying that I don't think us estemating a time is
worth it becasue on many trails there are too many variables. If I did a
trail on bike in august it would be differnt to doing it on food after high
rain fall. Sticking ''suitable for elderly=no'' is not what i suggested. I
just said it 'could' be an option to stick where a route is particaully
steep just as mapping companies do on roads. This may just be something
that people look out for when planning a walk. It is not up to us to judge
weather the old person can hack it, its just a matter of informing them its
there. This is just the same as sticking primary=motorway. If people have
a phobea of motorways the tag will make the nessesery things render to
informthem. I wasnt suggesting adding motorwayphobea=yes.
>The way your argument goes, why not ditch nature trails altogehter and let
>the computer work out the suggestions?
Nope. All I said was its not needed to add an approx.
All i'm asking is for suggestions as to how to render multple routes next to
each other, and what would be a suitable tag to use for marking trails. I
gave my suggestion, and am requesting better or approval. I don't really
want to have a pointless ML-style debate on the matter.
