Is there a way to tell if an area has been re-rendered?

The reason I ask is that I'm having a problem with two roads in Bath.
Stall Street and James Street. Both show correctly on the Osmarender
layer, and have been in the DB longer than some other nearby ways that
are visible in the mapnik layer, however both are absent from Mapnik. I
can't see any problem with the tagging.

and compare mapnik to osmarender. The zoom=18 mapnik layer is up to date
in the vicinity, but not at zoom=17. osmarender doesn't have zoom=18.
