This doesn't work.  While currently a higher status road renders later and 
therefore extrudes into the road it joins. If I switched it vice versa.  The 
minor roads would all extrude into the main roads.  Thats not a solution.

Well If I'm gunna spend time to map a roundabout and all its junctions, then 
adding 1 more tag is the least of my concerns.

Um... I have my link roads all render to the same road thickness anyway, so 
that wasn't a concern.  I think motorway_link should render the usual road 
width anyway, just to keep junctions looking uncluttered.  I can't see the 
problem on the png though.  Since the purpose of this tag is souly for 
rendering and not for routeplanning, then it does all that I 
needed...therefore it does work.

The email seems to just be a desperate attempt to go to any length to stop 
any progress on the matter.  Have you got any better ideas?... Taking steps 
backwards is hardly the way to go.
