[OSM-talk] OSM at LinuxTag 2007?

LinuxTag ist Europe's largest European Open Source event. This year it
will be in Berlin, Germany, from Mai 30 to June 2, 2007.

I think OSM should be present at LinuxTag. I see several options for
participation:

1. Giving a talk on OSM. The Call for Papers is at
   http://www.linuxtag.org/2007/en/conf/cfp/cfp-target.html . We have
only till February 16 to enter a talk! Talks can be in English or
   German, but English is preferred.

2. Participation with a booth in the exhibition. See
   http://www.linuxtag.org/2007/en/community/projects/cfpro.html . We
have till February 23 to apply. There is no cost for a booth, but
you'll need at least two people there all the time (4 days) and
the booth needs posters, computers etc. So thats a big commitment.
Maybe the booth could be shared with other GIS people?

3. There are some slots for workshops. This could be used to help new
people with OSM or for OSM-internal discussions.

4. And of course we can go out and do some mapping. Berlin is still
mostly white and in desperate need of some mappers. :-)

I was involved in the LinuxTag organization in the last years (but not
this year), so I can probably answer most questions anybody might have.

I am willing to put some effort into an OSM presence at LinuxTag, but
we'd need a lot more people for the many jobs. Somebody willing to
coordinate this?

Jochen
