imagine you play around with your device connected to a Linux box. While 
experimenting, the device crashes. No prob, boot it again.
The next day you do a 4 hour mapping tour which causes the internal 
track log to overwrite itself. No prob as I usually log the tracks to a 
Micro-SD card.
Back home you notice that the crash has silently disabled the option to 
log the tracks to the SD card. Ouch!
