Another alternative is the GeoIP data from MaxMind. The data is
proprietary but they provide a licence for free download
http://www.maxmind.com/app/ip-location
The Azureus CountryLocator plugin uses the GeoLite Country data file to
provide country flags for bittorrent connections.
