The carto meetup is set for Sat 3 Mar. The morning session will be
concentrating on reviewing the Mapnik layer of the slippy map with a
view to tweaking things aesthetically. It is planned to rationalise when
features appear on each zoom level, to include as many features as
possible and to sort out any display anomolies. There is a wiki page for
folk to notify things for the team to look at:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Mapnik_Features. This currently
lists which zoom level features appear from, and has the start of a
table of features not rendered on Mapnik. Please contribute to this
information if there are particular things you are concerned about.
There will also shortly be a section to notify inconsistencies in
displaying data through Mapnik (note: NOT Osmarender4). We will try to
deal with as many requests as possible, and will prioritise if
necessary.
The afternon session is an open-ended discussion of cartography in OSM
and of using OSM data for mapping. See wiki page for details:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Cartography_Discussion_Day. Feel
free to come along and participate.

Cheers
STEVE
