[OSM-talk] Village greens are not commons - official

May I remind the parties involved in this discussion that OSM has
meanwhile grown into an international project?

I had to smile at times in the past when the discussion went far into
obscure right-of-way details (which, as far as I understand, are not
even consistent across the UK). But the "village green" discussion tops
that easily.

Having a tag for "a grassy spot inside a village where the local
population have access" or something might be more or less universal,
but any more detail and you soon have to add special tags for the
idiosyncracies of every cultural region in Europe and the world!

Not that I don't find it interesting. There's a lot to be learnt about
Britain that way. But for OSM maybe it is a bit over the top?

Bye
Frederik
