[OSM-talk] Idea for mapping party

Been looking for an excuse to go walking somewhere in continental Europe for a
while, but not really had one as yet.

How does the idea of a walking mapping party sound? Idea is: go somewhere with
nice scenery, ideally with mountains, lakes etc - but also not *too* wild -
somewhere with a lot of well-defined, easily mapped footpaths - and also
somewhere in a country where there are OSM people already, as it would
probably be easier to book accommodation, etc, in that case. Probably over a
period of about a week. Would anyone be interested in such an idea and
suggest locations? Vague ideas, not really backed up with a lot of personal
experience, I had (not sure how well they'd meet the criteria) might include
the Black Forest, Norway or the less wild parts of the Alps (where you don't
need mountaineering skills).

Would there be much interest in this and would anyone nearer such a location
than myself be willing to help out with the organisation?

Nick
