Do you store linear features as an ordered list of nodes, as a series of 
segments, or as a higher level data type?

If you store nodes, what format do you store them in? eg tile or lat/lon or as a 
tiny rectangle.

Have you had experience of the type of database load like osm, where many 
asynchronous queries for semi-random areas need to be served?
