[OSM-talk] OSM historical coverage

All, 

I've been playing around with the latest planet.osm to see what the overall coverage is like. The 2 images below give some idea of global and European coverage over time.

Images are based only on planet-070117.osm so any data that was added and later deleted won't be included. 
 
Haven't tested much, so may well be a few bugs.

 Blue = almien_coastlines import. 

1 frame = 1 month. Goes from Feb 05 to Jan 07.
