It does help a bit, but it now says "./xsltrans: 28: Syntax error: "("
unexpected".  I assume this is because osmarender runs xsltrans
with /bin/sh.

I am using Ubuntu Edgy, so it uses dash as /bin/sh.  It seems as if dash
doesn't work with either of these scripts, but bash does.
