Hi,
I was trying to digitise some streets on Yahoo imagery, but I cannot send anything to server. I am wondering if our proxy is stopping the requests. Does somebody know if it is possible?
I am using the applet through Firefox on Windows XP. I have told Java to use the same proxy settings than browser. I can start the editing applet and Yahoo imagery appears OK. However, applet gives me these two error messages: "Could not get the copyright information", and "Could not download the main data. The server may be busy. Try again later." I do not believe the server can really be busy all the time, or can it?
Java console does not give much more information that I could understand. Obviously the applet tries to connect somewhere, with no success. If I try to digitise and send a node, the Java console shows things like:
Trying to PUT xml "<osm><node id="0" tags="" lon="25.08451318740845" lat="60.20972798611707" /></osm>" to URL http://www.openstreetmap.org/api/0.3/node/0
22.1.2007 13:10:20 org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpMethodDirector executeWithRetry
INFO: I/O exception caught when processing request: Connection timed out: connect
Is there something special that should be opened for me in our proxy or firewall, and is there any simple way to test the connection? My user account seems to be OK because I were able to send something from another internet connection. I was suspecting that "PUT" might be blocked, but as mentioned, I am getting error messegas already when the applet is trying to read the existing OSM data from the server.
Regards,
-Jukka-
