Hi,

I managed to solve this myself simply by adding Landsat plugin to JOSM. Road seems to be in a correct place.

Aihe: [OSM-talk] How to check the uploaded data?

Hi,

I just uploaded an old dataset I found from my data collector. The original is in a shapefile format and in Finnish national coordinate system. I have now reprojected the data, converted it to GPX and created some nodes and segments with JOSM. But how can I check that the road after these manipulations is still located right? There are no existing OSM data from this area to compare with. Reprojection from Finnish KKJ to WGS84 often leads to 100-150 meter location error in east-west direction and I have no previous experience if GPS TrackMaker does use correct parameters in transformation. Or might it be possible that someone makes for me a quick look on this road against some satellite imagery and tells if it seems to be OK? The road is highway E4 and it should be well visible on imagery. The original location accuracy should be something between 1-10 metres. The data can be found here (the road in the east)::
