If I had used a script, I would publish it. As if I had all the time in the
world, I did it by hand, although it should be fairly easy to automate the
way I did it.

I did API requests in Firefox using the search request. I saved the
responses in .osm files like ameiity.osm. I opened those in JOSM, after
removing non-visible nodes/segments/ways from the files to prevent 410
errors at upload. By searching for the misspelled tags and correcting them
by hand, I spent some hours.

Search requests to the API probably aren't the server's favourite requests,
so automating tag correction by operating on the database itself might be
more efficient.
