[OSM-talk] All Metacarta mapping is blank and shouldn't there be better guidance on attribution

Not sure if this is the right place to mention this, but all the Metacarta
mapping is currently blank (except for land/sea/country boundaries etc). I
realise it is Wednesday but should there really be any significant outage
like this?

 

Oh yes, and also shouldn't the Metacarta site have a more formal mapping
licensing terms spelt out, for example a 'mapping by OpenStreetMap licensed
under Creative Commons'.

 

On the subject of attribution, I noticed that Cambridge Cycle Campaign used
some of your maps in their printed newsletter (great) but then stated they
were 'C Open Street Map'. Should there not be clearer guidance all round on
what attribution should be used in various circumstances.
